Fresh Docs is a mobile application that allows users to access enterprise content management systems from their iPhone, iPad, or Android device. It provides the ability to browse, search, retrieve, open, and email documents from any ECM system on a mobile device. Users can download Fresh Docs from the App Store or Android Marketplace, then log in and navigate documents, create and upload new content, view metadata, download documents, leave comments, email documents, and search the connected ECM repository.

Zia Consulting’s Fresh Docs mobile application allows users to access enterprise content
management (ECM) systems from any iPhone, iPad or Android device. With Fresh Docs, users
can browse, search, retrieve, open and email documents from any ECM system on a mobile
phone or tablet device.

Fresh Docs is a mobile application that is available through the Apple App Store or the Android
Marketplace. Search "Fresh Docs" and download the application.

2. Changing Settings
After the app has been downloaded, a pre-chosen CMIS based introductory repository will show
up in Fresh Docs. To change this navigate to the app settings by chosing settings->scrolling down
to Fresh Docs->Click. When the app settings have been found, it should look like the above
picture. Input your 1) username and password (used on the system). 2) Input the hostname. 3)
Then input the CMIS Repository settings. HTTPS: Secure Connection, Port: based on what ports
are open (check with IT department), Service Document: The CMIS service document, and other
personal settings.

3. Open Fresh Docs Application
Open the app on your smartphone.

4. Homescreen
When the settings have been set up correctly for Fresh Docs, sites, folders, and documents from
the specified CMIS Repository should show up (starting at the top level).

5. Navigating to Wanted Document
From the homepage, the user may use the touch screen to navigate among sites, folders to the
wanted document.

6. Creating and Uploading New Content
Throughout the process, there is the ability to create a folder, upload a photo or take a photo (more
options on iPad). To create/upload content select 1) the plus symbol in the upper right hand
corner and 2) choose that action which you would like preformed.

7. New Folder
Creating a new folder is easy. When choosing "New Folder" from the previous list and name the
folder to your satisfaction.

8. Downloading Document
Once the needed document is found, it can be downloaded by simply selecting the name of the
document (no to be confused with pressing on the blue arrow).

9. Metadata
Like stated in previous step, navigating to the metadata and downloading/viewing the document
are different. When the document is clicked on, it is downloaded/able to be viewed, but when
clicking the blue arrow to the right, the metadata can be viewed. Metadata includes: created by,
creation date, last modified date and person, name of the document, what version of the document
is currently being viewed, and all the tags that the document has been given.

10. Downloaded/Viewing Document
After the document has been downloaded, it is brought up and can be viewed. At the bottom of the
screen, there are different document options that will be discussed in the following steps.

11. Saving Document to Device
1) When clicked on, this button will save the document to your divice (2). 3) Is the option to leave a
comment on the document. The user may email the document (4) or open it in another program
(5).

12. Leaving a Comment
As shown in previous step, there is an option to leave a comment on the specified document.
When pressed, the comment page looks like this. You may leave a comment discussing what you
think of the document, what needs to be changed or what you think is perfect.

13. Emailing a Document
When emailing a document, Fresh Docs takes the document from the CMIS Repository and opens
it in Apple Mail (or another email client) as an attachment.

14. Downloaded Documents
Once you have viewed the documents from the CMIS Repository they have been downloaded to
your system. These documents can be viewed under the downloads tab of the application. From
there you may re-view any document.

15. CMIS Search Engine
Fresh Docs has the advanced capability of searching the entire CMIS Repository for a document
or folder that you may know you want to look at. The search tab is a faster way of finding a
document that the user wants to view.
