1. QUESTION ONE-
CONTENTS PAGE
In what ways does you media
product use, develop or challenge
forms and conventions of real
media products?
2. MASTHEAD
For my masthead I took
inspiration from other magazine
such as Q as they included both
the masthead from their front
cover and the title contents. This
made it clear that the contents
matched with the front cover and
had continuous brand identity.
I put it on a banner line to help
make the page more structured
and interesting and to make the
white words stand out more.
3. CONTENTS
During my research phase I looked at
the different things music magazines
include on their contents page.
They all had things they knew their
audience would like and be attracted
to such as information on artists and
every month features so on mine I
decided I would comply with the
conventions of other media products
and do the same.
I also decided that I would put my
information in columns too as it was
proven to be attractive.
I included what I did as I knew it would
attract my target audience and make
them more interested to read on.
4. CONTENTS
The images I used on my
page matched other
conventions as they reflected
the genre of the magazine. I
included the section on the
cover story with a different
image as it made it more
interesting but then also
promoted my front cover
page again.
My page numbers varied in
fonts and colours just like
other magazine such as Q to
add more interest and colour
to the page.
5. EXTRAS
I added a twitter, Facebook and
web link to my contents page
to attract my younger
audience.
Magazines like Q also do this
for the same reason.
6. My content page did follow many media product conventions and was
of a similar colour scheme and structures. Over all I was pleased with
my contents page and liked the way it looked.
