Inhalants are commonly abused substances that include aerosol sprays, glue, paint thinner and gasoline. They can cause sudden death from heart problems or asphyxiation. While only 1.2% of teens use inhalants, they are physically and psychologically addictive. Symptoms of inhalant use include slurred speech, dizziness, chemical smells and paint stains on the body. 21. In eighth grade student (Megan)got sexually abused by a trusted friend and she told her other friend because she was scared to tell her parents. The friend suggested to get high by using inhalants because it would escape the pain.. She joined a group of friends and began “huffing” together.
