TEACHER LEADERS
SELECTION CRITERIA
“The Baker’s Dozen”
 1) Possesses a strong commitment to mathematics and/or science education

 2) Has at least 5 years of teaching experience and is at least 10 years away from retiring

 3) Possesses credibility as an effective teacher with other staff members

 4) Displays a collaborative approach when addressing instructional issues

 5) Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 6) Has the potential to be an active participant on school and/or district committees

 7) Demonstrates knowledge of the developmental needs of students

 8) Demonstrates the potential to develop skills in collegial coaching and mentoring

 9) Able to establish a positive and supportive relationship with teachers and administrators

 10) Demonstrates flexibility and resourcefulness

 11) Demonstrates organizational skills and initiative for working with minimal direct
     supervision

 12) Demonstrates evidence of professional growth

 13) Has the potential to apply classroom learning to real world application
