Training Camp
            Details
The National Hockey League club will open its 2011 training
camp presented by Andersen Windows on Saturday, Sept. 17
at 9:00 a.m. at Xcel Energy Center. Minnesota will hold a
public open scrimmage on Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday,
Sept. 18 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Xcel Energy Center. Fans can
enter Gate 1 starting at 9:45 a.m.

The Wild’s training camp roster consisted of 38 players, the Wild will bring an additional 18 players
to Wild Training Camp, all of them coming off the Wild’s Traverse City prospects roster. That puts
the total number of players at this year’s camp at 56. Player medical examinations and fitness
testing will take place on Sept. 16 followed by the start of training camp on Sept. 17.

Minnesota’s preseason schedule consists of seven games, including three contests at Xcel Energy
Center and four road matches. Preseason and regular season tickets are on sale now at the Xcel
Energy Center Box Office (175 West Kellogg Boulevard) and
all Ticketmaster outlets.

The Capital of the State of
                                                                 Hockey

The Minnesota Wild announced that fans can once again decide which Minnesota city will be named the Capital of the
State of Hockey. Voting began Aug. 29 and will continue throughout the NHL regular season. The winner of the annual
Capital of the State of Hockey contest, presented by TRIA Orthopaedic Center, will be announced April 7 when the
Wild hosts the Phoenix Coyotes in the team’s final regular-season game.

This year’s competition sets 32 cities from across the state head-to-head in a tournament between the Housley Bracket
(metro communities) and the Broten Bracket (non-metro). Defending champion White Bear Lake, given a bye to the
final round, will take on the winner in the championship matchup. Five new cities join this year’s contest, replacing
those that received the fewest votes last year. Anoka, Burnsville, Minnetonka, Osseo and Roseville make up the rookie
competitors, while 2010 champion Roseau – defeated by White Bear Lake in 2011 – returns as well. The five cities that
were eliminated are Alexandria, Genoa, Hallock, Twig and Silver Bay.

Fans can view the tournament bracket and place their votes by here.

  • 1. Training Camp Details The National Hockey League club will open its 2011 training camp presented by Andersen Windows on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 9:00 a.m. at Xcel Energy Center. Minnesota will hold a public open scrimmage on Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Xcel Energy Center. Fans can enter Gate 1 starting at 9:45 a.m. The Wild’s training camp roster consisted of 38 players, the Wild will bring an additional 18 players to Wild Training Camp, all of them coming off the Wild’s Traverse City prospects roster. That puts the total number of players at this year’s camp at 56. Player medical examinations and fitness testing will take place on Sept. 16 followed by the start of training camp on Sept. 17. Minnesota’s preseason schedule consists of seven games, including three contests at Xcel Energy Center and four road matches. Preseason and regular season tickets are on sale now at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office (175 West Kellogg Boulevard) and all Ticketmaster outlets. The Capital of the State of Hockey The Minnesota Wild announced that fans can once again decide which Minnesota city will be named the Capital of the State of Hockey. Voting began Aug. 29 and will continue throughout the NHL regular season. The winner of the annual Capital of the State of Hockey contest, presented by TRIA Orthopaedic Center, will be announced April 7 when the Wild hosts the Phoenix Coyotes in the team’s final regular-season game. This year’s competition sets 32 cities from across the state head-to-head in a tournament between the Housley Bracket (metro communities) and the Broten Bracket (non-metro). Defending champion White Bear Lake, given a bye to the final round, will take on the winner in the championship matchup. Five new cities join this year’s contest, replacing those that received the fewest votes last year. Anoka, Burnsville, Minnetonka, Osseo and Roseville make up the rookie competitors, while 2010 champion Roseau – defeated by White Bear Lake in 2011 – returns as well. The five cities that were eliminated are Alexandria, Genoa, Hallock, Twig and Silver Bay. Fans can view the tournament bracket and place their votes by here.
