2. Introduction Welcome to the Mobiletech pulse report for May 2009. We have decided to include some new data in the report which looks at referring search engines and bots. No surprises here that Google is the single most dominant player Also of interest is the inclusion of reports for Swedish mobile internet. Sweden has recently standardised the measurement of the mobile internet by Mobiletech’s measure product. Its going to very interesting to see the what the trends emerging in the coming months. Keep watching out for the Mobiletech pulse report In Norway most of the mobile internet leaders continue to experience steady growth with VG breaking the 140,000 unique users mark. Will be interesting to see what the summer holidays bring which is a traditionally busy time for mobile and start in July in Norway.
3. Top Mobile Operators TeliaSonera customers generating most page views. Even if TeliaSonera customers generates most page views, TeliaSonera is beaten by Tele2/Comviq in terms of referring traffic. Tele2 represents in total 46% of referrers to sites outside operator portal
4. Handset data May 2009 Measured by page views per handset. Only measures mobile sites iPhone + iPod Touch + iPhone applications covers 43% of all generated page views iPhone alone decreasing
5. Browser Data April-May 2009 High end browsers, such as Safari, increasing. Safari popular not only on iPhone. OperaMini is stable
6. Mobile Search Google Bot is crawling most sites. Yahoo and MSN not veryactive ”Unknown robots” covering a myriadofsmaller, ad-hoccrawlers. Google is refering most traffic to mobile portals. Kvasir, a Norwegiansearch and directory portal alsodoingwell.
8. Swedish Mobile Online Newspapers* * Data is collected by Mobiletech and analysed by SIFO Research International for kiaindex.org, the official mobile metrics for Swedish markets. Early participants only. More sites will be added, as this is just launched. Numbers prior to week 22 are not qualified for some sites.
