            12/08/2011  <br />Assmang Limited’s Beeshoek Iron Ore Mine, situated approximately 7 kilometres west of Postmasburg in the Northern Cape (+/- 200km west from Kimberley), requires the services of a:<br />CHIEF STOREKEEPER<br />QUALIFICATIONS       <br />A Grade 12;<br />A 3 year Diploma or Degree in Procurement or a related field/or an equivalent Financial qualification;<br />EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS<br />A minimum of five years’ operational experience in Procurement, Stores or a Financial environment;<br />Three years’ supervisory experience in Procurement, Stores or Financial environment;<br />B/EB driver’s licence.<br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES<br />Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and JDE system;<br />Ability to communicate in two official language across levels;<br />Ability to compile and populate reports using MS Word and Excel;<br />General supervisory skills;<br />Planning and organising skills;<br />Commercial awareness;<br />Problem solving and Analysis skills;<br />Understanding and ability to apply SHERQ policies and procedures applicable to area of responsibility;<br />Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers; <br />The ability to resolve conflict and to develop a good working relationship with others;<br />A valid code B/EB drivers licence;<br />KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS INCLUDE, INTER ALIA:<br />Ensuring availability of stock items for the purpose of production needs while being cognisant of optimum stock holding, thereby ensuring cost effectiveness of store section;<br />Responsible for coding of items in stores;<br />Ensuring stock management policies and procedures are adhered to and compliance investigated on a regular basis;<br />Conducting and managing regular stock takes to ensure accountability and report variances as required;<br />Managing the purchasing, receiving and issuing of consignment stock and reconciliation of stock balances;<br />Managing and maintaining assets assigned to stores section and applying asset care management principles effectively using EAMS system;<br />Building and maintaining effective internal and external customer relationships and providing acceptable levels of customer service;<br />Developing and maintaining re-order system for stores to ensure effective store operation;<br />Ensuring access control processes and procedures are in place for stores section to prevent any financial loss;<br />Ensuring correct storage and handling requirements for spares and equipment are practiced;<br />Monitoring SHERQ and related adherences and reporting any deviances to SHERQ Superintendent;<br />Identifying areas of concern improvement and liaise with SHERQ department regarding implementation; <br />Supervising and planning subordinate activities to ensuring effective task execution and departmental operations;<br />Ensuring instructions are clear, precise and understandable and fall within worker’s area of responsibility;<br />Continuously providing swift and precise feedback to subordinates and check understanding prior to work allocation and task execution;<br />Providing guidance and advise where necessary;<br />Supervising subordinates key performance areas by setting and monitoring performance standards and taki9ng action to correct deviations to achieve the section’s objectives;<br />Responsibility for managing training of subordinates against Development Plans and Performance Contract;<br />Performing fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the Manager (direct Supervisor);<br />Ensuring adherence to all SHERQ policies and procedures affecting area of responsibility;<br />Performing any other reasonable ad hoc duties, as and when requested from time to time.<br />        <br />Appointment:Remuneration will be based on a competitive all-inclusive, flexible package.<br />Probation Period: 6 months<br />The successful candidate will be appointed subject to being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act, 29/1996 and meeting the requirements of the Company’s Code of Practice – minimum standards of fitness to perform work on a Mine. He/she may also undergo a psychometric assessment.<br />The abovementioned position is C5 on the Patterson grading system. The successful candidate who conforms to all said requirements and experience will be appointed on this grading.   • 1. 12/08/2011 <br />Assmang Limited’s Beeshoek Iron Ore Mine, situated approximately 7 kilometres west of Postmasburg in the Northern Cape (+/- 200km west from Kimberley), requires the services of a:<br />CHIEF STOREKEEPER<br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />A Grade 12;<br />A 3 year Diploma or Degree in Procurement or a related field/or an equivalent Financial qualification;<br />EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS<br />A minimum of five years’ operational experience in Procurement, Stores or a Financial environment;<br />Three years’ supervisory experience in Procurement, Stores or Financial environment;<br />B/EB driver’s licence.<br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES<br />Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and JDE system;<br />Ability to communicate in two official language across levels;<br />Ability to compile and populate reports using MS Word and Excel;<br />General supervisory skills;<br />Planning and organising skills;<br />Commercial awareness;<br />Problem solving and Analysis skills;<br />Understanding and ability to apply SHERQ policies and procedures applicable to area of responsibility;<br />Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers; <br />The ability to resolve conflict and to develop a good working relationship with others;<br />A valid code B/EB drivers licence;<br />KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS INCLUDE, INTER ALIA:<br />Ensuring availability of stock items for the purpose of production needs while being cognisant of optimum stock holding, thereby ensuring cost effectiveness of store section;<br />Responsible for coding of items in stores;<br />Ensuring stock management policies and procedures are adhered to and compliance investigated on a regular basis;<br />Conducting and managing regular stock takes to ensure accountability and report variances as required;<br />Managing the purchasing, receiving and issuing of consignment stock and reconciliation of stock balances;<br />Managing and maintaining assets assigned to stores section and applying asset care management principles effectively using EAMS system;<br />Building and maintaining effective internal and external customer relationships and providing acceptable levels of customer service;<br />Developing and maintaining re-order system for stores to ensure effective store operation;<br />Ensuring access control processes and procedures are in place for stores section to prevent any financial loss;<br />Ensuring correct storage and handling requirements for spares and equipment are practiced;<br />Monitoring SHERQ and related adherences and reporting any deviances to SHERQ Superintendent;<br />Identifying areas of concern improvement and liaise with SHERQ department regarding implementation; <br />Supervising and planning subordinate activities to ensuring effective task execution and departmental operations;<br />Ensuring instructions are clear, precise and understandable and fall within worker’s area of responsibility;<br />Continuously providing swift and precise feedback to subordinates and check understanding prior to work allocation and task execution;<br />Providing guidance and advise where necessary;<br />Supervising subordinates key performance areas by setting and monitoring performance standards and taki9ng action to correct deviations to achieve the section’s objectives;<br />Responsibility for managing training of subordinates against Development Plans and Performance Contract;<br />Performing fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the Manager (direct Supervisor);<br />Ensuring adherence to all SHERQ policies and procedures affecting area of responsibility;<br />Performing any other reasonable ad hoc duties, as and when requested from time to time.<br /> <br />Appointment:Remuneration will be based on a competitive all-inclusive, flexible package.<br />Probation Period: 6 months<br />The successful candidate will be appointed subject to being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act, 29/1996 and meeting the requirements of the Company’s Code of Practice – minimum standards of fitness to perform work on a Mine. He/she may also undergo a psychometric assessment.<br />The abovementioned position is C5 on the Patterson grading system. The successful candidate who conforms to all said requirements and experience will be appointed on this grading.
