(3) What kind of
media institution
might distribute
your product and
why?
• I researched media companies
that distribute music magazines
such as Bauer Media, BBC,
Time.Inc UK, Egmont and
Immediate Media co. and
Champion Media Group.
• I have chosen to use Egmont that
I believe would be the best
company to produce and
distribute my magazine.
This shows that Egmont have experience when selling magazines to children and
teenagers because it states that they sell over one million copies every month in
the UK. It also shows it is a successful, well-known company because it is ‘the UK’s
leading children's publisher, for babies through to teens.’
This shows that
Egmont Media
distributes magazines
by age groups. It
mainly sells magazines
to children Under 7
and Over 7 however it
does sell We Love Pop
which is a pop music
magazine aimed at
female teens which
means it can appeal to
teenagers as well as
children.
CURRENT MAGAZINES THAT
PRODUCE AND DISTRUBUTE:
Why would be
perfect for
 I chose this distributor/company for my magazine because they currently
sell magazines for under 7s,7 and over and one teen magazine. The
teen magazine is We Love Pop. Therefore, it has experience when
selling pop genre music magazines.
 However, there current magazine ‘We Love Pop’ is aimed at females
whereas my magazine is aimed at both genders. Therefore, this will
widen there target audience.
 I think this distributor would be best for my magazine(‘ Dynamix’)
because although they distribute a pop magazine to teens already,
they are not aimed at the same target audience as my magazine.
Therefore, my magazine which is aimed for older teens would help
increase the type and amount of people the company appeal too. Also,
this means that it would widen the companies audience to a maximum
age of 16 years old.
