2. This is our second audience feedback session, this has
been helpful as it is within our media class, and I think it
is important we get feedback from media literate people
rather than just our regular peers. This is important
because it means they understand what type of
feedback we are looking for and how to give it. They will
focus more on the editing and cinematographic
techniques displayed more than content/what our
sequence is based on at this stage of the process.
3. Audio
Our audio for the younger boy crashing the car
together got moved as we were changing
another scene, and none of us were aware of it
moving slightly, therefore getting out of
synchronisation with the action happening on
screen, it was a simple correction to make and
so we changed it straight away and is now back
to normal.
4. ‘Adjust the colour’
Some of our scenes are highlighting the wrong colours
which are not suited to the genre, these colours are the
greens from the grass and the red off the older boys
jacket. Part of our feedback was to lower the tones of
these colours, changing them will be a simple yet
effective task and make our sequence more
suitable towards the genre and create more of an eery
feeling, our audience also pointed out that doing this will
make it easier for them to tell the difference between the
two boys.
5. Layering sounds
Another feedback point was maybe finding more sound effects
so we can layer them, this was useful because it makes our
sequence more sophisticated and less boring, as I think the
same track the whole way through being repeated got
tiresome. From this we have found a laughter sound, which
works well because it contrasts with what's occurring on
scene, we faded it in over the top of the normal sound to make
it sound more creepy/eery. We have also found a heartbeat
sound during the shop scene, which builds tension and
highlights that the boy is actually stealing from a shop. The
heartbeat replicates that of the boys at the current moment of
the film.
6. ‘Presenting…’
We have been advised to either change the
effect we have used on the ‘Presenting…’ title
or delete it, so as a group we have decided to
wait until we do a whole class audience
feedback session so we can gather more
opinions on this particular title and get
suggestions on which font/effect to use should
they think we should keep it.
7. Overall...
Once again, I am pleased with our audience
feedback, we haven’t had any particularly harsh
comments on our filming/editing style and all
comments have been constructive and have
helped our opening sequence become of a
higher standard.
