A massive open online course (MOOC) is a model for delivering learning content

3. HISTORY OF MOOCS
• It started earlier in the 1728 by Caleb Phillips, the teacher who introduced
the method of Short Hand, in use of mailed lesson to the students
• The very rapid growing in 1930’s of student engaging in radio lessons led to
proposals to use it for long distance educationAt many universities in the
1980s classrooms were linked to a remote campus to provide closed-circuit
video access for some students
• The first MOOCs emerged from the open educational resources in 2008 by
Dave Comier
5. THE AIM OF MOOCS IN CONNECTIVE
KNOWLEDGE
• Aim of mooc’s is a mode of delivering education and instruction, often on
an individual basis, to students who are not physically present in a traditional
setting such as a classroom. Distance learning provides "access to learning
when the source of information and the learners are separated by time and
distance.
• It also aim on the effective and efficiency use of education with the relevant
information connecting all the people from different areas (diversity
learning)
6. DISADVANTAGES OF MOOCS
• It’s impossible to facilitate meaningful conversation in a classroom with
thousands students. There are electronic alternatives. Message boards and
chat rooms, but the intimacy of face-to-face communication is lost, emotions
often misunderstood. This is a particular challenge for humanities courses
• Makes it easier for people to drop out
• Many people fail to experience the university lifestyle
7. ADVANTAGES OF MOOCS
• Brings people from all over the world together, globally interacts with other
student from abroad countries
• The information is accurate, relevant, effective, up to date and
knowledgeable because it enables people to search online and do and submit
their activity through web
• Is the solution to overcrowded classrooms
8. MY CONCLUSION ABOUT THE MOOCS
• I think that MOOC’s are the future tool of education because the
participants number is increasing every year and increased options for
accessibility, increased potential for student engagement, and expanded
lifelong learning opportunities.
• However to some it is bad, to some it is part of everyday life; to everyone it
is all in how you approach MOOCs
• To me MOOCs offer the opportunity to fit education into your life
