Our History 2002:  The Institute of Production and Recording was started Founded by four very different individuals:  Terry Myhre, owner of numerous career colleges as well as production powerhouse Broadview Media Jack Robinson, the owner/operator of the Electronic Musicians Workshop and accomplished producer/engineer Lance Sabin, a producer/song writer awarded with numerous major label and Billboard top 100 credits Tom Tucker Sr., a master engineer with years of experience                          at many of the Cities top studios Located in the revitalized warehouse district                                                             in downtown Minneapolis
Our Goals Students: Train students for employment in the media and entertainment industry and assist graduates find jobs Employers:  Assist employers find qualified job 		candidates
Career Training Emphasis on practical training and hands-on learning in a state-of-the-art facility Instruction by experienced and award-winning professionals Students are prepared for their specific career upon graduation
Program Development Driven by real-world requirements and developments Developed to foster specialized skills and knowledge in specific field Designed to fill employment needs within field Created with input from advisory board members currently working in the field Must uphold standards of accreditations and professional memberships
Program Review Students gain the necessary skills to be competitive in the field Each program is regularly reviewed by: Program advisory board: professionals and employers in the field Curriculum committee: college administration, including Program Deans and the Chief Academic Officer
Career Programs Graduates are well-rounded and ready to contribute in a variety of fields, including: Entertainment  Business Audio/Visual Production and Engineering Marketing and Media Management Web and Media Design TV and Radio Broadcasting Post-Production
A.A.S. in Media Arts Audio Production and Engineering  SKILLS OF OUR GRADUATES: Fundamentals:	Acoustics, Audio Signal Flow, Recording,	Music Theory, Digital Audio Workstations, MIDI Sequencing 	and Music and Entertainment Essentials Artistic and Technical:	Microphone Technique, Mixing, Critical	Listening, Session Management, Studio Etiquette, People Skills, 	and Basic Song Composition and Programming Advanced:	Recording, Editing, Mixing and Mastering Techniques,	Post-Production, Live Sound, Song Arrangement, Video, 	Broadcast, Chord Structure and Harmony
A.A.S. in Media Arts Music and Entertainment Business  SKILLS OF OUR GRADUATES: Shopping a Project, Intellectual Property Rights Digital Rights Management, Contract Law Media Design, Creative Copy Writing Communication and Networking Strategic Branding and Web Content Creation Business Structures and Economic Maintenance History, Current Events Analysis
Career Services All services for employers are free of charge Career Services will: Post your open positions Screen job candidates Provide interns Send resumes of qualified candidates Schedule campus recruiting visits  Host career fairs
