The document outlines plans for a promotional video for a creative media course. It will be 10-15 minutes long and feature interviews with staff and students in the department. The target audience is students ages 16-18 looking to enroll in a creative media course. The production team will research other college promotional videos, create a schedule, survey students, write a script and storyboards. The video will be shot with college equipment and feature tours of the department conducted by students. A small proposed budget covers equipment, snacks, and DVDs for distribution.

Team proposal presentation
1. What the advert is about?
Our advert is based around the creative media
department. If they enrol on the course, we will also
include interviews with staff and students. The advert will
:
• Be 10-15 minutes Long
• Be purely on the Creative Media department
• It will have an interactive feature that will enable users
to interact with the chapters included within the video
• The advert will also try to get the viewers involved
2. Target Audience
• The target audience for our advert will be students of the
ages 16-18
• Who wish to enrol on a creative media course or are
undecided on which course to take
• We want to make sure that everyone from all races,
religions or backgrounds feel welcome to the college and
show that everyone can succeed
• We also want to make sure that the audience know that
teachers are always here and are happy to help you with
any problems you may face on the course
3. What would be in your Production
Team
Firstly, we carried out individual research on 2 different promotional videos for 2
colleges which are the following:
• Cheadle and Marple Sixth Form College and Stockport College.
• We did a brain-storm of the ideas for the digital video for the Creative Media BTEC
course.
• I produced a Gantt Chart/Spreadsheet in order to state the milestones that are
needed to be reached in order to meet the deadlines
• I then researched into the understanding of the target audience in relation to the
Creative Media digital video.
• I then constructed a questionnaire on the course itself
• We did a script for the Creative Media digital video
• We created storyboards and sketches
See illustrations below…..
17. Cast and Crew
The cast and crew will consist of a few people mainly
being Shaun and Ben who will conduct interviews and
show the audience around the department, a few
teachers will also appear in the advert along with a few
students that will be there to conduct the interviews
with or to help in showing of the many things that go
on in the department. The camera man will have to be
a teacher or student that we can get a hold of as in
some parts Shaun and Ben will both be on set at one
time.
18. Budget
The budget is something we would be concerned with
if we were doing an advert with our own funds but
since the college has everything that we need such as
camera’s, computers with the right software etc. then
we do not really need to set any type of budget but I
will do one going off if we actually were to buy
everything;
19. Costs
I am working to a budget of £4000 which will be used to create a presentation to go
along with the video, also snacks will be needed for the people involved in the video,
and the camera will also be paid for along with the lighting that is needed the costs
will go as followed;

Notas del editor
Our advert is based around the creative media department where the advert will include showing the viewers around the department and showing off the many things that they will be getting involved in. If they enrol on the course, we will also include interviews with staff and students alike that will give their views on the course as a whole along with answering some of our questions. The advert will be around 10-15 minutes long, and will be shortened down or lengthened depending on what we manage to get on the day of recording.
Firstly, we carried out individual research on 2 different promotional videos for 2 colleges which are the following: Cheadle and Marple Sixth Form College and Stockport College. Secondly, we did a brain-storm of the ideas for the digital video for the Creative Media BTEC course. Thirdly, I produced a Gantt Chart/Spreadsheet in order to state the milestones that are needed to be reached in order to meet the deadlines specified accordingly to the 2nd Year Plan for Creative Media. Fourthly, I then researched into the understanding of the target audience in relation to the Creative Media digital video. Fifthly, I then constructed a questionnaire on the course itself where I included question’s like `What makes a successful promotional digital video` and `What do you like/dislike about the course`. Sixthly, we did a script for the Creative Media digital video where it states exactly what is going to happen throughout the video. Seventhly, we did storyboards and sketches in which we are still currently in the process of working on the storyboarding where we covered all of the sketches and most of scenery within the Creative Media digital video.
