Retail Spending – Direct effect includes the additional personal purchases by employees and households. Indirect retail comes from suppliers and general multiplier effect. Multipliers – Multipliers were derived from the IMPLAN input-output model and customized by AngelouEconomics based on project specific data provided by IEDP. Assumptions to the model are made using background research on Texas or U.S. economic data. The multipliers were calculated for each individual industry under consideration. Taxable Retail Sales – The model assumes 80% of wages translates to disposable income and that 30% of disposable income is spent on taxable retail sales. Construction – Building construction impacts and sales tax estimates were calculated for the project. Building materials are considered taxable.
