2. Interview with Marshawn
Question: How long have you worked in the visual merchandising field?
Answer: Well, I started when I was about 19 years old . . . I wont tell you how old I am now . . .
but its been a long time.
Question: Marshawn, what makes Deca different from other visual merchandising company's?
Answer: Some of the differences . . . which I believe are many . . . first begin with the clients that we serve.
-We work with the client To achieve exactly what they want but of course adding our experience to achieve
just the right look.
-We are also very determined to work within the clients budget and at the same time
give them all or most of what they would like to have in a design. But there have been instances
That we could not do everything that the client would like and meet the budget, so we just explain the situation
And then let the client decide how they would like to proceed . . . but that doesn't happen to often.
It is very important to us to make it happen . . .
-And lastly we use animation, special effects, and different lighting techniques to achieve dramatic displays.
We work with some of the lighting tech's that also do the lighting for the Grammy's, Oscars, and
Super Bowl half time shows . . . they work a lot of entertainment venues . . . so its pretty different.
Question: What services do you offer?
Answer: Our services include not only visual merchandising but graphic design, fixture design and development
shop concept design, and holiday decorating . . . I also manage to offer visual training to retailers
that want to learn more about how to create and maintain their displays and merchandising areas.
Question: How are you able to do everything that you do?
Answer: I have a great team of freelancers all over the country so we are able to do things in many states and cities
concurrently.
Question: Lastly Marshawn, where do you see Deca Dramatic Traditions in 5 years?
