• McLeod Russel Mgt Guideline : Company is confident of the company’s entry into the green tea business . Company is growing by a whooping
20-30 percent. Company expect this growth to increase in urban areas . McLeod Russel recently made a Rs 5 crore worth acquisition of a green
tea-processing factory in Vietnam, thereby entering the green-tea business. On expectations from the black tea segment, Mgt says a 5-10 percent
price hike is likely as the tea season begins soon.
• Venkys has approved a proposal to acquire Poultry and Packaging business operations, on going concern basis, of Venkateshwara Hatcheries
Private Limited (VHPL), its Holding Company, situated in Northern India in the state of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
• European statistics agency said industrial production declined by a seasonally adjusted 0.2% in January, disappointing expectations for a gain of
0.5%. Industrial production in December was revised to a 0.4% drop, from a previously reported fall of 0.7%.
• Industrial production (IIP) in January stood at positive 0.1 percent versus expected a contraction of around 1.1 percent. Manufacturing sector,
which comprises 80 percent of the total IIP, declined 0.7 percent versus a contraction of 1.6 percent on a monthly basis. Consumer durables data,
which gives a better picture of the demand scenario in the economy, saw de-growth of 8.3 percent against a decline of 16.2 percent (MoM).
Growth in the capital goods segment also fell 4.2 percent virus a fall of 3 percent seen last month. Consumer goods growth declined 0.6 percent
versus de-growth of 5.3 percent (MoM).
• V-Guard Mgt Guideline : V-Guard Industries is targeting margins of 9 percent in FY15. The company’s inverter segment has been growing
through a challenging phase for the past nine months. Infact, it saw de-growth in Q2 and Q3 of nearly 25 percent . The company has registered
sales growth of over 10 percent in January and February. For the full quarter (March), the company is hopeful of maintaining sales growth around
these levels .
• Greaves Cotton Netherlands B.V., wholly owned subsidiary in The Netherlands has ceased to exist with effect from February 25, 2014 as per
the Chamber of Commerce confirmation dated March 10, 2014 .
• AstraZeneca has agreed to sell its Alderley Park research site in northern England to a public-private partnership group as it moves drug
discovery to a new global center in Cambridge.
• Gateway Distriparks Ltd has acquired 74 Lac equity shares of Rs. 10 each in its subsidiary company, Snowman Logistics Ltd. (SLL) from Nichirei
Logistics Group Inc. for Rs. 25.90 crores. SLL will continue to be the subsidiary of Gateway Distriparks Limited; Gateway Distriparks Limited's
shareholding in SLL will increase to 54.19% and Nichirei Logistics Group Inc. will cease to be a shareholder of SLL.
