2. Front Covers From my front cover analysis I have learnt that I need to use a colour scheme. This colour scheme should be linked to the artist that is on the front cover and compliment the theme and genre. This colour scheme is not the same every week/month as it more to do with the artist then the magazine. I have also learnt that I need to put information of other articles featured in the magazine, not just the main article linked to the main image. This means that my readers can see what is in the magazine without having to flick through it to see. I need to use flashes to highlight particular features within the magazine. I have learnt that most magazines use a + sign rather than the word ‘plus’ to give details of other features within the magazine. This is something I should use as well.
3. Contents Page From my contents page analysis I have learnt that I need to keep the colour scheme simple. This means that it is not too distracting and is easier to follow and read. As well as the colour scheme, the layout also needs to be simple as this also helps make the page easier to read and follow. The actual contents section needs to be positioned on the right hand side of the page as this is side you see more when you flick through the magazine. There should be small images of some of the bands featured in the magazine and a page number, as this means that you can just see your favourite band and go straight to the page that they are on.
4. Double Page Spread From my double page spread analysis I have learnt that I need to make sure I use the right balance of text and images. If I use too much of either the page will look crowed and make it less easy to read as it will be distracting. The title of the article needs to link to the article itself and also the band. It could be a quote said in the interview of something to illustrate the theme and tone of the article. The text needs to be the right size and font to read, not too big or too small, and quite plain and easy to read.
5. Target Market Research From my target market research I have learn that my magazine needs to be fairly regular. This means that it should be released weekly and not monthly in order to keep my target audience up to date with what is going on in the music industry and with what is happening with their favourite band/artists. I need to feature popular bands and artists in my magazine in order to generate a bigger audience. Also I need to consider featuring both new and old artists in order to introduce my audience to new music to them. This also includes making sure I have new music reviews in my magazine, both of singles and albums. This will help my audience know what music to buy and what not to buy.
