Different ways to use Hashtags
1. DIFFERENT WAYS TO USE
#HASHTAGS
Sometimes you need to stress urgency. #realquick Maybe
you’re trying to read what others think about a tv
show. #DWTS Sometimes there is a level of importance that
only your voice would normally be able to communicate.
#deadserious Sometimes your friends like to poke fun at you
with stuff completely unrelated to what is currently going on.

#Hashtags – They are fun. They should be used often and
correctly.
Here’s how you too can specialize in using hashtags.
First, read the history of hashtags in social media. The
person credited with inventing the hashtag use on Twitter
is Chris Messina. Here are two solid articles detailing the
2. history of hashtags. #one #two S/O too all Barcamps I never
made it too. *If you care to dig deeper and learn about IRC
use of hashtags, read here.
Since hashtags so widely accepted for referring to an agreed
upon topic, place, theme, subject, idea, it is ok to use them
everywhere. Yes, hashtags don’t (yet) link to a conversation
stream on many networks, such as Facebook as they do on
Google Plus, Twitter, and Instagram. Still, I argue hashtags
can be used in the following places and be effective:
email
text messages
instant messages
pictures
hand written letters
tv screens
art
facebook posts
blogs
greeting cards
“Ok, so I know the history of what they were invented for
and I now know where I can use them, but that doesn’t help
me with how to use hashtags. Can you teach me?”
This is the type of question I expect most to hear from my
mother(sorry, mom). Here’s the quick and simple: ideas,
feelings, thoughts, emphasis, commonalities, trends, topics,
tv shows, songs, styles, current events, reflections, and more
are all fair game for hashtags.
