OUR VISION
To truly be the Church on the hill with the CROSS,
reaching out to the Gem Valley and beyond to the whole
world. We believe all generations need the Gospel, and
have a special concern for the younger generations to
come to Christ, and to His Church. Hence, we will re-
main committed to effective ministry to all age groups;
but we will specifically strive to strengthen our ministry
to youth, as God grants us opportunity.

Wednesday Night Meals
Some of the ones who have prepared Wednesday night
meals will not be able to continue this year. We need others
who will be a part of the this ministry. If you could help
prepare and serve a meal one Wednesday evening a month,
beginning in September, please contact Glennea Gibson or
Doug Edwards.
Community Concern
We are all aware of the fire damage to the First Baptist and
Community Bible Churches. Churches, community groups,
and individuals have given help to these churches in various
ways. Our local care offering for September, taken on
September 8, will be a gift of love and expressed concern for
our community sister churches.
Pray for:
--Vacation Travel Safety
--Safety of those fighting fires

WORLD MISSION PRAYERS
PRAISES
These are praises sent to us by those in Bangladesh. Twenty-five
delegates from Bangladesh attended General Assembly in Indianapo-
lis, USA, and returned home safely. District leaders attended training
in Kathmandu, Nepal also returned home safely, and new projects
were approved by the NGO (Non-Governmental organization) Affairs
Bureau. Our South Asia Nazarene Bible College program is running
successfully in five centers, and the JESUS Film staff in Bangladesh
received motorbikes and are now able to serve more areas.
PRAY FOR
The country of Namibia is experiencing its worst drought in
more than 30 years. Please pray for the people of this
southern African country, that God will provide everything
they need.
A fire erupted at the Jasper, Alabama, First Church of the
Nazarene on August 10 after a lightning strike. The sanctu-
ary and surrounding rooms were destroyed but thankfully,
no one was injured. Pray for the Jasper congregation as
they make plans to rebuild.
The Philippine Field Office is conducting a two-day seminar
on Child Protection at Asia-Pacific Theological Seminary on
Sept. 5- 6, 2013. Participants will be pastors, child develop-
ment workers, district superintendents, district advisory
board members, schoolteachers and church workers from
Metro Manila District and other nearby districts.
Subsequent training will be held at Philippine Nazarene
College in the north and Visayan Nazarene Bible College in
the south.
Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these
forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to
find out whether or not you would obey His commands. Deuteronomy 8:2
