3. Loading Overdrive Books
NOOK 1st Edition WiFi
Plug in NOOK
Open Overdrive in Web browser on PC and choose an EPUB or PDF format title
Checkout and download
At bottom of web browser click arrow next to the download and choose “show in folder”
Right click item in the folder that appears and choose “open with” then choose “Adobe digital
editions”
Adobe Digital Editions will open
Drag and drop item from Bookshelf to Nook (in left bar within Adobe Digital Editions)
Eject NOOK once transfer is complete
To return book, open Adobe Digital Editions. Right click title and select “Return Borrowed Item”
Sony
Plug In Sony
Open Overdrive in Web browser on PC and choose an EPUB or PDF format title
Checkout and download
At bottom of web browser click the download to open the Reader for PC program
Approve the prompt to import to Reader library
Select the item
Click “copy to Reader” icon
Kindle
Connect Kindle to WiFi
Open Overdrive in Web browser on PC and choose a Kindle format
Check out and click “get for Kindle”
Amazon.com will open automatically in a web browser
Sign in if needed and click “get library book”
Choose deliver to “CPL” and click continue
Unless the book is a Penguin title, in which case plug in the Kindle, drag and drop the downloaded book to
the Kindle using File Manager.
To return, open Amazon.com on web browser and choose “manage your Kindle”
Click “actions” and “return”
Then click “actions” and “delete”
