Brief Description: In this project, an application was developed for data acquisition
of on-board aircraft sensor’s data. Basically this unit (data acquisition) will acquire
data of different sensors mounted on aircraft and these data used to monitor by
pilot in air-bone. This unit will have different type of FPGAs cards and each card
having different configuration for different sensor like thermocouple ,Pressure
scanner. This application having different database for each sensor and each
database table represents sensor type and default values like pressure, excitation
etc. This Table contains different streams (Channels) like PCM, RS – 422, MILBUS,
Video, Audio and Vibration Default data. These table data is feed to the different
cards either through LAN(Ethernet) or Serial Port.
The above Application helps to Configure Cards easily and increase analysis and
accuracy .

2. Extraction and Conversion of Flight Data

3. Brief Description: In this project, an application was developed for data processing
of recorded on-board aircraft data. Real-time data may have some loss due to “Blind
spots” caused due to loss of transmitted data. The above extraction helps to
reanalyze data to increase analysis accuracy.
The application takes a Mux file(‘.MUX’ format) which is recorded on board the
aircraft. This file contains different streams (Channels) like PCM, RS – 422, MILBUS,
Video, Audio and Vibration.

3. Flight test telemetry
Duration : November 2013 to December 2014

Brief Description: Flight test telemetry is a Telemetry station used to track
movement of aircraft in real-time and to receive video and data signals of aircrafts.
This Flight Test Telemetry is equipped with auto track antenna systems, PCM
Decommutation and display systems and video distribution system along with High
speed networked computing facility. There are different streams like FTI, RS–422,
MILBUS, Strain Gauge, ECFM etc. These parameters are captured at different rates .
Roles and Responsibilities:
Integration of telemetry setup.
Using the PCM Decommutation to acquire real-time data for testing.
Hand on experience in real time recording and tracking system.
Doing Daily Inspection (DI) of PV series and LSP series aircrafts of Tejas.
To keep track of PCM data log details, backup and retrieval.
Designing the new parameter as per the requirements using user algorithm and
coding.
