The document discusses the future of VSAT service providers in light of new high throughput satellite (HTS) technologies. It outlines the traditional role of VSAT providers and how HTS is disrupting the value chain by decreasing costs and increasing speeds. The document presents various options for VSAT providers, such as reselling managed HTS services, running their own hub infrastructure, or combining options. It emphasizes that VSAT providers' strengths lie in their market knowledge, customized services, and local presence. Overall, the summary suggests that while HTS presents challenges, it also provides opportunities for VSAT providers to adapt their business models and services.

JDL: A future trend weforeseen with the HTS capacity, is that network will start using a combination of traditional and HTS capacity.SES broadband Services has applied this principle. They gradually rolled-out the service using tradional Ku-band beams, covering western Europe, Sub-sahara-Africa and Middle-East.Now they are adding HTS Ka-band capacity over the most demand area’s in Europe: France, Germany and UK.The freed Ku capacity can be further used to grow the other western-Europe regions, not covered by the Ka-band.The next slide show the final coverage Ku and Ka of SES Broadband over Europe.
