Sousada PHOUMMASAK presented on his path to becoming a leader in the Lao National Assembly. He discussed growing up in a male-dominated family but pursuing self-development through education and various roles in the National Assembly and foreign affairs department. Mentors played an important role by providing good examples, regular consultation, and strong support. He was given opportunities to become an inspirational leader through family incentives, competency, and appropriate behavior. He advised young leaders to provide innovative solutions, demonstrate self-confidence and self-development, and resolve conflicts. Valuable tips included being strategic, having effective relationships through interpersonal skills and empowering staff, and having personal drive through integrity and competence.
