The Great Smoky Mountains National Park has a rich history and diverse wildlife. It was established in the 1930s after local settlers had lived in the area for over a century. The park is home to over 10,000 species of plants and animals, including 1,500 black bears, 350 rare red wolves, and diverse bird and fish populations. Some challenges facing the park include high rainfall levels that cause erosion and a busy highway running through the protected area.

children had to guard the mountain tops and blow a
horn when confederates approached. There were 21

changed the cove. The civil war shattered in the cove.
An no more slave ever worked in the cove again. In
1820 the people started a written language. Franklin
