What a Clock Looks Like ,[object Object]
The big hand tells time in minutes.
The small hand tells time in hours.,[object Object]
Each one represents five minutes.
Twelve numerals x 5 minutes means that there are 60 minutes in one hour.,[object Object]
If the minute hand is in the green region, time is being told to the hour (a new hour is approaching).,[object Object]
How the Clock Works Continued If the big hand is at the 9, 45 minutes has passed (30 minutes + 15 more since it’s another quarter hour).

Lets Look at Some Examples…  Example 1: The big hand is pointing at the 1, meaning 5 minutes has passed. The little hand is on the 12 meaning the hour is 12 o’clock. The time is then 12:05.
Examples Cont. Example 2: The big hand is pointing at the 12 meaning it is on the hour, 0 minutes have passed. The little hand is on the 2, meaning the hour 2 o’clock. The time is 2:00.
Examples Cont. Example 3: The big hand is just about on the 1 meaning a little under 5 minutes has passed. The small hand is on the 5 meaning the hour is 5 o’clock. The time is roughly 5:04.
Examples Cont. Example 4: The big hand is on the 5 meaning that 25 minutes has passed (count by 5’s until you reach numeral 5). The little hand is on 10 meaning the hour is 10 o’clock. The time is 10:25.
Final Example Example 5: The big hand is just a little past the 5 meaning a little more than 25 minutes has passed (count by 5’s until you reach numeral 5). The little hand is on the 9 meaning the hour is 9 o’clock. The time is roughly 9:26.
