2. History-Romania first was called Dacia, which the Romans decided to call Romania
due to extending of the Roman Empire.
-Romania disappeared from world history for hundreds of years.
-Romania stayed under the emperorTrajan in the beginning period of the
second century. Later became turf of the Ottoman Empire.
-Romania gained independence from the Ottoman Empire in the year of
1878
-During World war 1, Romania stayed neutral but later joined the allied side
of the war. (Romania military flag)
-In the year 1916, the Central powers was declared war upon by Romania.
By the year1918, Romina had gotten it’s territory sized doubled thanks
to Russia and the Hungarian Empire.
-1940, Romania joined forces with the Axis Leading intoWWII. More than
200,000 Jews was brutally murdered there.
-An armistice with the Soviet Union was signed in the year of 1944.

Characteristics
- 36% of Romania is hills.
- About one quarter of the land is forest.
- The twelfth largest county in Europe and the is half way
between the Equator and the North pole.

 When greeting each other, either give hug or kiss on both sides of

like wine or flowers.

 In there household, dinner is a big thing.When eating never place
napkin in lap.To not offend your host, if your full lay your eating
utensils side ways, with the handles facing to the right.
 If not full, cross the utensils that you are eating with.
 On Easter the don't just worship the resurrection of Christ, they
renew everyday life.
 Otrhodoxyis the main religion learned about in Romania
 Oil is the main mineral source.
