Sports Marketing Landscape The Global Sports Market Expenditure in 2008 was $43.5 billion. UK Sponsorship and Marketing is estimated at £1 billion per annum till date. Its estimated that the Global Expenditure on Sponsorships and Marketing will touch $143 billion by 2012. IMG Competitors The origins of Sports marketing date back to 1970’s and ever since IMG has developed competition in every aspect of marketing discipline. IMG SWOT Analysis Presentation by- Nilesh Deshmukh
recommendations  Weaknesses + Opportunities =Winning  (WOW) Strategy. As the title of the strategy suggests I have used the Weakness and Opportunity quadrants of the SWOT to recommend strategies that can result in a winning formula for IMG.  The main objective to adapt this strategy is to take advantage of opportunities by over coming weaknesses or making them relevant. IMG is in a position to consider this strategy because it has the best resources and facilities in Marketing, Media and Production. Presentation by- Nilesh Deshmukh
Implementing WOW strategy By taking this approach  IMG can Identify areas of weaknesses or barriers and work on integrating resources and departments to win new business. Presentation by- Nilesh Deshmukh
Implementing WOW strategy Outmanoeuvre the competition by: 1.Developing the required strengths Market entry into growing economies eg: India Develop Branded TV content which can be country/sport specific eg: IPL related programmes for Indian market. 2.Buy or Borrow required strengths Acquiring businesses that will grow.
