Hanna-Barbera was an animation studio founded by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera in 1957 after MGM shut down its animation department. They are best known for creating the iconic cartoon characters Tom and Jerry. Their cartoons differed from Disney by drawing inspiration from American pop culture and contemporary life. Some of their most successful shows from the 1960s included The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and Scooby-Doo. The studio was later acquired by other companies and is now part of Warner Bros. Animation.
