George Thomas and various performers to promote sales of their song "The Little Lost
Child" Using a magic lantern, Thomas projected a series of still images on a screen
immediate to live performances. This would become a popular form of entertainment
known as the illustrated song, the first step towards music videos.

films produced featuring bands, vocalist and dancers.

sound technologically coupled to image, as opposed to a silent
film.

with musical films, Ancestor of the music video and “screen
songs” introduced.

audiences to sing along by "following the bouncing ball.“

was a film genre in which several songs were interwoven into the
film.

start around this time; all brought a unique vision and style to the videos they
directed.
