particular Y6 and Y4. Mrs. Phelps has dedicated a great
deal of time, energy and dedication to the children of
Norwood over the years and we are delighted that her
work in setting up the Norwind Band is proving so
popular with children and parents alike. Although she will
be sorely missed by every one connected with Norwood,
we know she is looking forward to her well deserved
retirement and wish her well.
Mrs. King has had many roles in the school as parent,
lunchtime supervisor and for the last ten years as
teaching assistant supporting children across KS2. Her
contribution to the progress of children and the support
for staff has been excellent and she will be greatly
missed. Holly goes up, while Ben “That was a piece of cake!”

Shinewaves competition
Last week’s competition was to find out about the Magna Carta. Nobody was inspired to find out about this historic
document! For your information Magna Carta is Latin and means "Great Charter". The Magna Carta is an important
piece of English history where the rights of individuals are protected against the power of the King or Queen.
This week is National Insect Week. So, this week’s competition is a photography competition. You are looking for a
great close-up photograph.
For ideas and information take a look at HYPERLINK "http://www.nationalinsectweek.co.uk"
www.nationalinsectweek.co.uk.
You will find previous competition winning photographs and ‘fun stuff’ to do (you could also enter your photo in the
online competition).
Pop your entry in the Shinewaves postbox or the office with your name and class on the back by the morning of
Monday 28th June.
