1. OVER THE RAINBOW
Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
There´s a land that I heart of once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.
Someday I´ll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops away above the chimney tops…
That´s where you´ll find me.
Somewhere over the rainbow blue birds fly
If birds can fly up over the rainbow why, tell me why, can´t I?
Someday I´ll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops away above the cimney tops…
That´s where you´ll find me.
If birds can fly up over the rainbow why, tell me why, can´t I?
If happy little blue birds fly beyond the rainbow
Why oh why can´t I?
Contenidos a desarrollar
correctamente.
• Oraciones condicionales del primer tipo: If birds can fly up…. Tell me why can´t I ?
• Oraciones interrogativas con el verbo modal can.
Ejercicios y aplicaciones propuestos.
ejemplo uso de presente y pasado, descripciones utilizando somewhere and someday y oraciones
con el verbo modal can.
2. 1.- Pre-listening activity:
1. Yesterday my father (go)_______ to work by car.
2. This morning I (have)_________ a shower.
3. My sister (not clean)________ her room on Saturday.
4. The birds (fly)_________ over our heads.
5. Last week my family (not buy)_______ a new table for the dining room.
6. The other day, I (lose)___________ my math's book.

2.- Pre-listening activity:
1- He / the question / answer
___________________________________
2- You / a question / ask
___________________________________
3- The dog / bark
___________________________________
4- They / us / call

____________________________________
8- I / hungry / be
____________________________________
9- They / a hamster / have
____________________________________
10- He / to school / go
___________________________________

5. BEATLES - SHE'S LEAVING HOME
Wednesday morning at five o'clock
as the day begins
Silently closing her bedroom door
Leaving the note that she hoped would say more
She goes downstairs to the kitchen
clutching her handkerchief
Quietly turning the back door key
Stepping outside she is free
She (we gave her most of our lives)
is leaving (sacrificed most of our lives)
home (we gave her everything money could buy)
She's leaving home after living alone for
so many years (bye bye)
Father snores as his wife gets into her dressing gown
Picks up the letter that's lying there
Standing alone at the top of the stairs
She breaks down and cries to her husband
Daddy our baby's gone
Why would she treat us so thoughtlessly
How could she do this to me
She (We never thought of ourselves)
is leaving (never a thought for ourselves)
home (we struggled hard all our lives to get by)
She's leaving home after living alone for
so many years (bye bye)
Friday morning at nine o'clock she is far away
Waiting to keep the appointment she made
Meeting a man from the motor trade
She (what did we do that was wrong)
6. is having (we didn't know it was wrong)
fun (fun is the one thing that money can't buy)
Something inside that was always denied for
so many years (bye bye)
She's leaving home (bye bye)
2.- Presente continuo: She is leaving home.
3.- Pasado simple: aparecen en la canción formas afirmativas, we gave her..., negativas, we
didn't know it…, e interrogativas, what did we do…
Ejercicios y aplicaciones propuestos.
desarrollar competencias speaking and listening.
1.- Pre-listening activity:
- positive aspects of living with your family.
- positive aspects of living on your own.
preguntas:
- Do you know somebody who has a part-time job to get his pocket money?
- What is the age most teenagers in your country begin working?
- What is the best age to leave home? What about your brothers, sisters, cousins..?
- Do most youngsters in your country share a flat when they leave home?
- Would you like to share a flat?

- In your opinion, is it best living with your family or on your own?
- If you had problems at home, would you leave home without telling your parents?
Why?/ Why not?
6.- Alternative activity:
Ambos ofrecen cortos
video-clips con dramatizaciones del tema.
