3. Integrating Collaborative Media
Flickr, YouTube, Slideshare
College and high-school students regularly share
audio and video via the Web. Sites like flickr and
YouTube allow users, in a few clicks, to easily post and
share media files. This demonstration will show you
how to get started, and offer some examples of
course-based uses.

• YouTube = video sharing
• Slideshare = presentation (such as powerpoint and
keynote) sharing.

• Tools:
» Tilting, describing, noting, tagging, grouping photos,
geotagging, collaging, and printing
• Community:
» Internal:
• Groups (common interest) & Contacts (like a buddy list)
» External:
• Code help to add it to your individual site, blog, etc.
• Limitations/issues:
» Minimal ; mostly with preset view issues (sizes, background,
cropping)
