18. Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga, Spain
in 1881 and died in France in 1973. He is
known as one of the greatest artists of
the twentieth century for co-founding a
new style of art called Cubism.
Cubism rejects the concept that art
should copy nature and focuses on
depicting objects or people in an abstract
way. Mouths, noses, ears, and eyes are
arranged differently, often utilizing
geometric forms. Picasso’s favored
motifs were still lives of human faces and
figures.
