The system employs new methods of growing algae in offshore floating pods using municipal wastewater and solar/wave energy to produce renewable biofuels. The algae absorbs nutrients from the wastewater which is then concentrated and recycled while the algae is harvested for biofuel processing. The goal is to create carbon-neutral biofuels that do not compete with agriculture by using wastewater as a resource in the ocean setting.
1. Our goal is to produce biofuels that replace fossil fuels,
while cleaning the wastewater
otherwise being dumped into the ocean
ALGAE TO BIOFUEL: OMEGA GLOBAL ALLIANCE
2. The OMEGA system will produce renewable carbon-neutral
biofuels without competing with agriculture for land, water, or
fertilizer.
The system employs new methods for growing algae in
offshore settings in eco-friendly, flexible membranes using
municipal wastewater as a source of nutrients and water.
Floating pods contain the algae, while using solar energy,
wave energy and the surrounding heat capacity of the ocean.
The saltwater gradient between wastewater and ocean
saltwater allows a forward osmosis system removes and
recycles excess volumes of freshwater, concentrates nutrients
in the wastewater, helps algae growth, harvesting and biofuel
processing.
ALGAE TO BIOFUEL: OMEGA GLOBAL ALLIANCE
3. The Alliance is dedicated to marshaling the collective talents
of the greater global community and focusing the skills and
resources of the many, around a single, vitally important
endeavor of developing the OMEGA as renewable source of
biofuel for the public good and for the health of the global
environment.
The Alliance invites people of all ages, young and old, to join
in this quest and to become a contributing part of a new,
sustainable future for Planet Earth.
