1. Ice Ice Baby – Vanilla Ice

2. The music video opens to a few men
dancing in a dark room, this is a
mysterious thing to have in a music
video and creates intrigue for an
audience.

3. We then see “Ice Ice Baby” graffiti on
the wall, this shows any music video
watcher the name of the song and acts
as an additional element for the urban
theme

4. The first time we see Vanilla Ice he is
shown as a stereotypical hip hop
protagonist in a music video, with his
sun glasses, cap and baggy jumper the
hip hop conventions act as an attribute
of the key urban theme that runs
throughout

5. We then see Vanilla Ice dancing, this
gives him a cool feel. Regardless of the
fact it is horridly cliché, it works well to
make Vanilla seem outgoing and
popular

6. Vanilla sings along to the music very
badly, but regardless in doing so backs up
the image of his cool exterior. It also shows
he is the rap artist, and the key character of
the music video.

7. As Vanilla raps “Riding in my 5.0” We see his car in
synchronization. “Riding in my 5.0” Is also the
name of another of his songs, therefore it’s
arguable he is getting the image of 5.0’s as part of
his image as a commercial exhibitions.

8. Vanilla ice is presented to be wearing
sunglasses, dressed in bright pink to make him
stand out. He is also in a nice car and passes
numerous amounts of girls, giving him sex
appeal.

9. This attractive woman is hardly
dressed, adding more sex appeal as
she licks ice cream. Her red lipstick
also adds sex appeal.

10. This editing is quite good, with bright
colours it follows the conventions that
show Vanilla to be separate from the
rest, he comes across as a protagonist
that is not like any other character.

11. We then continue to see Vanilla dancing
with his group. The dark shadows
continue to develop his scary and
mysterious figure.

12. There are numerous children
throughout the music video, this
shows the music is entertaining to
any age group. The demographic is
therefore widened. This is effective
because it will result in more sales

13. Vanilla is seen here smiling with
children, this makes him look like a good
character. His record company obviously
want to try and make him look
cool, respectable, mysterious and good with
children so that he is liked by women, men
and children.
