Name: Ashley Olson Date April 19th, 2012

Product: TOMS Campus Club

Date/Time: Activity: I worked with my project facilitator Comment/Suggestions:
to fill out a club proposal form to present to I really like what we came up with
November Creekview’s administration for the club’s today! I cannot wait to see what
16, 2011 approval. this project has in store for me!
2:45pm-
3:45pm Commentary: Filling out the form was not a
              difficult task. However, brainstorming ideas
for fundraising took some effort. With my
facilitator’s assistance, we decided to raise
money through a change drive and a bake
sale for sure, as well as a few other ideas.

Date/Time: Activity: I worked on creating and hanging Comment/Suggestions:
informational posters about the club’s first I could not get the background to

2012 took forever!
12:30pm- Commentary: I was unsure of what to
1:30pm include on my flyers, so the thought process
was at a lull. Also, the formatting of the
flyer was bothersome and I could not seem
to perfect it. In the end, the font I chose was
              nonexistent on Ms. Hamilton’s computer,
forcing me to choose another font. I liked
the result in the end. Ms. Hamilton even had
a poster sized version of the flyer made and
we put it up in the library.

Date/Time: Activity: I talked to Ms. Hamilton about our Comment/Suggestions:
1/ 23/12 plan for the first meeting. I am glad we planned ahead for the
3:00pm- meeting versus “winging it.”
3:30pm Commentary: Ms. Hamilton and I
discussed what kind of treats to bring to the
first meeting. I plan to bring popcorn and
pretzels while Ms. Hamilton is going to
              bring soda.

Date/Time: Activity: I watched the two DVDs that were Comment/Suggestions:
1/23/12 sent to me via TOMS Campus Club The movies were really well done.
6:00pm- headquarters. I cannot wait to show the
7:00pm Documentary at the first meeting!
Commentary: The DVDs totaled about 50
minutes. One DVD was about the Shoe
Giving portion of TOMS. The other was a
documentary about the creation of TOMS.

Date/Time: Activity: Today was the club’s first meeting! Comment/Suggestions:
2/1/12 I will get a better turnout next
3:45pm- Commentary: I was a disappointed with the time! I am determined.
4:45pm small turnout for the clubs first meeting, but
I enjoyed the conversation of the small
             group. We discussed fundraising
opportunities and our personal interests in
the TOMS Story. We screened the TOMS
documentary and had snacks and enjoyed
             one another’s company.

Date/Time: Activity: I created informational brochures Comment/Suggestions:
2/10/12 for students and teachers interested in Those brochures took forever, but
2:00pm- learning more about the TOMS Movement. they sure do look good!
3:30pm
             Commentary: I really dislike Microsoft
Publisher. For this reason, making and
folding these brochures took a relatively
long time. In the end, they looked nice and I
             hope they are beneficial.

Date/Time: Activity: I wrote on flyers for One Day Comment/Suggestions:
3/14/12 Without Shoes and hung them in the main I should have printed “Creekview
3:00pm- hallways. High School” on those flyers! My
3:30pm hand started hurting halfway
Commentary: After writing “Creekview through the stack!
High School” 40+ times, my hand was really
sore and I noticed that the quality of the
penmanship slowly declined. All in all, I
think the flyers were a good idea and I am
proud when I see them in the hallways.

Date/Time: Activity: Today I taped together a huge back Comment/Suggestions:
3/15/12 drop consisting of about 35 pieces of copy Confusing and meticulous, but the
2:30pm- paper. All together the back drop is a picture back drop looks great!
3:30pm of a man’s feet and reads “One Day without
             Shoes. April 10, 2012.”

             Commentary: Although taping the papers
together was a meticulous task, I really like
the image formed all together. I am really
glad my project facilitator allowed me to
print out all of the pictures using her printer.

Date/Time: Activity: I cut out laminated facts and Comment/Suggestions:
3/20/12 figures related to the TOMS movement and Cutting out lamination is not my
3:20pm- One Day Without Shoes specifically. favorite task.
3:40pm
Commentary: I am thankful for my project
facilitator and her willingness to help me in
every way she can using her resources as a
             librarian.

Date/Time: Activity: I cut out more facts and hung them Comment/Suggestions:
3/21/12 on clothes pins around the library. I also I am much shorter than I thought.
hung up a flag sent earlier this year by But I am glad I was wearing my
2:50pm- TOMS. TOMS. Less chance of falling in
3:35pm those shoes!
Commentary: Hanging up the papers was
fun although it had a danger element to it, as
standing on any object does. The library
looks great and I have noticed students and
             teachers looking at the flyers.

Date/Time: Activity: I glued down the die cuts I made Comment/Suggestions:
3/23/12 last week onto a piece of light blue butcher I loved watching things come
2:00pm- paper. When people pay their dollar to together. I almost hugged those
3:00pm participate in One Day Without Shoes poor freshmen boys that signed up
festivities, they can sign the poster to be today.
hung up on April 10th. Today was also the
first day stickers were being sold and toward
the end of the day, three students signed up!

Commentary: I was so excited when the
students signed up. We are going to be
helping two great causes on April 10th with
the awareness of TOMS and the donation to
help local battered women and children.

Date/Time: Activity: I spoke to several students about Comment/Suggestions:
3/24/12 some ideas I had for One Day Without I am so excited to make t shirts
3:00pm- Shoes and I asked them for their feedback. with the students and wear them on

             shirts via stencils.

Commentary:We have decided it would be
fun to spray paint One Day Without Shoes
on plain t-shirts via stencils. I really enjoy
talking to students and getting the
             opportunity to hear their thoughts.

Date/Time: Activity: Ms. Hamilton and I made Comment/Suggestions:
3/28/12 arrangements for One Day without Shoes. Everything is coming together!
3:00pm-
3:30pm Commentary: I offered to make cupcakes
and popcorn and Ms. Hamilton offered to
bring chocolates. We agreed that students
             should provide their own beverages.

Date/Time: Activity: I ordered the medical shoe covers Comment/Suggestions:
4/1/12 for April 10th. I am happy with my purchase, I
12:00pm- just hope they get here in time!
12:15pm Commentary: I looked at several websites
to compare prices. I settled for Amazon and
             paid $11.60 for the booties.

Date/Time: Activity: I made cupcakes and frost and went Comment/Suggestions:
4/9/12 to the store to get supplies. Those cupcakes took forever. And
7:00pm- they are ridiculously unattractive.
9:00pm Commentary: I made three trips to Kroger
to get food coloring. Spending a total of
about $15.00. Looking at the finished
product, however delicious they may be, I
am going to make another batch in the
             morning.

Date/Time: Activity: I made a second batch of cupcakes Comment/Suggestions:
4/10/12 and frosting. Much, much better.
6:55am-
7:55am Commentary: I made cupcakes for the
second time. Instead of making the cupcakes
the colors of the TOMS logo, I made plain
vanilla cupcakes and blue butter cream
             frosting.

Date/Time: Activity: Today was One Day Without Comment/Suggestions:

8:00am- students and being able to get to
8:30am Commentary:I got to the school at 8:00 am their opinions. Although I really

12:30pm stickers and answer questions. I also hosted consisting of 5-8 people.
1:00pm- a lunch party at every lunch and did a
1:30pm presentation about TOMS and my senior
2:00pm- project. I spoke to the students about their
2:30pm ideas and we watched videos about One Day
          Without Shoes.
