– LIFE 2.0 is not just a virtual community; it is the
support to seniors independent life and to their
social life in their neighborhood.
– LIFE 2.0 is a platform of services to allow elderly

other and feel they are important.

Elderly
– LIFE 2.0 will offer the opportunity to link to
existing online services, this creating a seamless
link between senior people using the Life 2.0
platform and service providers that can propose
relevant services for them.

to increase social cohesion in the local area, to
ensure that senior people have an active, healthy
and independent life.

• Three main activity areas will be implemented during
the project lifetime:
– Mutual Help application will map all the other seniors that
have something to offer - a help with garden, small repair,
cooking, piano lessons or whatever they may need.
– Local events and Activities application will inform what is
happening in the neighborhood. Elderly will be able to
propose joint events and activities for culture, sport,
physical activities, entertainment, etc. — to reduce their
social isolation, keep them healthy and active .
– Market Place application will be local on-line market—to
allow for on-line shopping of daily food, ordering ready
meals, promote local restaurants with special offers,
supermarkets.

20. Pilot Activities

• The LIFE 2.0 pilot has strong user centric focus
and offers a wide range of individual activities
that will allow for customized e-Inclusion for the
elderly people in their daily life.
• To prove wide applicability in Europe, the pilot will
be evaluated with target end-user groups —
elderly, relatives, friends, social caregivers,
associations of elderly, addressing thus the
diverse requirements of these groups.
• The pilot services will be tested in real-life
conditions in 4 European countries (Denmark,
Finland, Spain, Italy) with 80 elderly, for a period
of 12 months.
