Hero Cycles acquires 60% stake in German bicycle firm MIFA
Hero Cycles, the world’s largest cycle manufacturer, has acquired 60% stake in German bicycle company MIFA for €15 million. The company will be spending an additional €4 million as capital expenses in restructuring the acquired company.
Flipkart to provide online platform for weavers
The Textiles Ministry on Monday inked a pact with homegrown e- retailing major Flipkart to provide an online marketing platform to handloom weavers across the country.Flipkart will provide weavers in India an online marketing platform, infrastructural support in data analytics and customer acquisition to help them get remunerative prices for their products and scale up their business.
Maruti, Tata Motors, 12 Others Fined Rs. 2,545 Crore by Fair Trade Regulator
In the first major order against the auto sector, the Competition Commission today slapped a penalty of Rs 2,545 crore on 14 car makers, including Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors, for violating trade norms in the spare parts and after services market.
With 18 days of operations, AirAsia India sees Rs 26-cr loss
AirAsia has reported a net loss of about Rs 26 crore for its Indian joint venture operations for the quarter ended June. The losses are primarily because the venture operated only for 18 days in June, with only two flights. Announcing its entry into India, the airline unveiled a Rs 5 promotional fare on the Goa route, but IndiGo went one up with Rs 1 fares on the same route.
