Foursquare Specials We designed the foursquare Merchant Platform to fit your business needs, offering a range of different types of Specials, some designed to get new customers in the door, some designed for specific promotions, and others to reward your most loyal customers. Here are the different types of Specials you can offer: What are Foursquare Specials?
What are Foursquare Specials? Looking to attract new customers to your business? Come with 4 friends and unlock a free double order of buffalo wings for the table! Incentivize and reward groups of friends who come as a group to your business. Build off the social aspect of foursquare to increase your foot traffic. You set the minimum threshold for a group of friends you’d like to reward for visiting your business together, and the Special is only redeemed if that many friends check in (based on a user’s foursquare friends) Friends Special A Successful Example Your Goal How it Works Type of Special
What are Foursquare Specials? Looking to attract new customers to your business? If 20 foursquare users are here at once, 1 round of drinks on the house! Incentivize and reward large numbers of foursquare users for visiting your business. You set a minimum threshold for a group of foursquare users you’d like to reward for visiting your business in the same 3-hour window, and the Special is only redeemed if that many people check in. Swarms can only unlock once per day per venue. Swarm Special A Successful Example Your Goal How it Works Type of Special
What are Foursquare Specials? Looking to attract new customers to your business? First 10 people here for dinner get a free side dish or dessert with entree. Your choice!   Incentivize and reward users for visiting your business and create some urgency to do so.  Just like a flash sale, this Special runs out. Set the number of Specials you want to unlock per day and it’s first-come, first-serve. After that, no more Specials for the day. What are Foursquare Specials? Looking to attract new customers to your business? First time here? Take 25% off any item in the store!   This is the most straightforward way to get new customers through the door and trying out your offerings.  This Special rewards users only on their first time ever visiting your venue.  Newbie Special   A Successful Example Your Goal How it Works Type of Special
What are Foursquare Specials? Looking to attract new customers to your business? Foursquare users take 15% off any spa treatment and 25% off on Mondays!   This is great for rewarding your foursquare customers every time they come, or for promoting deals specific to your venue, like a discount on a specific item.  These Specials are available to customers on every check-in, or based on whatever conditions you specify.  Check-in Special   A Successful Example Your Goal How it Works Type of Special
What are Foursquare Specials? Want to encourage loyalty among your existing customers? The Mayor gets one free drink, every day of his/her reign. Plus, your favorite burger will be named for you on our menu if your reign lasts at least a week!   Helps encourage repeat visitors, and creates a fun game around frequenting your venue.  The foursquare Mayor is the most frequent visitor to your venue over the past 60 days. This is a way to reward your best customer, while stoking competition for the prize. What are Foursquare Specials? Want to encourage loyalty among your existing customers? On your fifth time dining with us, meet the chef for the option of a custom meal not on the menu (at regular price)!   Helps encourages people to stay loyal to your business and keep them coming back. Can also be used to try and increase short-term repeat customers, like trying to get people to come three times during a specific week.  There are a few different ways to use Loyal Specials: Like a loyalty card or punch card, allowing customers to redeem a Special every X times they visit. As a one-time reward, for coming X times in total. To reward loyalty within a given time period: for X visits over the next Y days. You don’t have to just rely on the foursquare application to motivate your customers to redeem Specials, though. Another great way to promote your foursquare Special is through all the ways you already speak to your customers, whether it’s online, in ads, or in your establishment.  Businesses promote their involvement with foursquare via Twitter, signs at cash registers and sidewalk blackboards.  Go for it, put up loads of custom signs and foursquare stickers in the entrance. Foursquare also provide official foursquare window stickers for the front window or door of your venue. Promoting Specials in your venue
How does your staff know if a customer is eligible for a Special?  Foursquare users ‘unlock’ Specials when they meet the Special’s specific conditions (for example, when they become Mayor or visit for the 10th time). The Special also changes color when it’s unlocked, making it easy for your employees to determine if a customer has qualified or not. On this screen, we also put the date and time the Special was unlocked. Finally, unlocked Specials are only available as long as the Special criteria is met, so you don’t have to worry about inappropriate usage. The best way for you to track redemptions is to have your employees enter a register or point-of-sale code that is unique to your foursquare campaign. Simply include this code in the text of your Special (for instance, have it say: ‘instructions to staff - enter code 4SQdiscount’) so that when a customer presents their phone to your employees for redemption, your staff can easily process it.
