•  Search Engine Optimization
•  To ”optimize” your website to rank on search engines
•  Search results A.K.A Organic results

Why SEO?
•  Customers use search engines to find a supplier
•  Your website needs traffic – The Fuel of Your Business
•  Free traffic = free customers
•  Good SEO = Rankings on multiple search engines
Onsite SEO – Title Tag, Linkstructure & Content
Structure is alfa & omega. Good Content will always be king!
Relevant content => more traffic => more customers
Title Tag should be written on ALL your pages
Title Tag: Up to 70 characters to explain your content but never more!
Your Title Tag & meta description content appears on the search
correctly or incorrectly depending on the length
Content Title ( H1 ): Your most important keyword should be in your H1
Content Title ( H1 ): Don’t write the same thing that 1000000 others also do
Content: Your most important keyword should appear several times. Tell the
search engines that this is your most important keyword but DONT OVERDO!
URL’s should always be “clean”
Internal Link structure: Good guide for search engines but also users
Don’t name your menu the same thing as everybody else
Name your menu strategically
SEO basic check list
•  Have unique landingpages for all your products/services
•  Every page should have a unique title tag – no exceptions!
•  Every page should have a unique meta description content – no exceptions!
•  Title Tag can be up to 70 characters, meta descriptions can be up to 156 characters but try
to keep them 10 characters less
•  Your most important keyword should appear in the content title H1
•  Content text should be between 100-400 words
•  Most important keyword should be in <strong> but never more than 1-2 times
•  KeyWord density: 1-3 % ( Dont overdo! )
•  Forget your teacher – write to search engines and users
•  Remember your teacher – No spelling or grammar mistakes!
•  Dont mix to many keywords on the same page – keep focus!
SEO technical check list
•  Have Clean URLs
•  Never create duplicate content
•  Link internally – create a good navigation for the search engines and users
•  Link to other relevant sites – confirm your own content
•  Use Webmaster Tools – keep track of your site performance
•  404 errors should have been fixed yesterday! error must never exist on your site
Offsite SEO, Linkbuilding: Getting the trust to your site
Pagerank: En good indicator of your sites “authority”
•  You want Google to recommend your site – but who is
recommending your site?

  • 4. What is SEO? •  Search Engine Optimization •  To ”optimize” your website to rank on search engines •  Search results A.K.A Organic results Search results
  • 5. Why SEO? •  Customers use search engines to find a supplier •  Your website needs traffic – The Fuel of Your Business •  Free traffic = free customers •  Good SEO = Rankings on multiple search engines
  • 6. Onsite SEO – Title Tag, Linkstructure & Content
  • 7. Structure is alfa & omega. Good Content will always be king!
  • 8. Relevant content => more traffic => more customers
  • 9. Title Tag should be written on ALL your pages
  • 10. Title Tag: Up to 70 characters to explain your content but never more!
  • 11. Your Title Tag & meta description content appears on the search correctly or incorrectly depending on the length
  • 12. Content Title ( H1 ): Your most important keyword should be in your H1
  • 13. Content Title ( H1 ): Don’t write the same thing that 1000000 others also do
  • 14. Content: Your most important keyword should appear several times. Tell the search engines that this is your most important keyword but DONT OVERDO!
  • 15. URL’s should always be “clean”
  • 16. Internal Link structure: Good guide for search engines but also users
  • 17. Don’t name your menu the same thing as everybody else
  • 18. Name your menu strategically
  • 19. SEO basic check list •  Have unique landingpages for all your products/services •  Every page should have a unique title tag – no exceptions! •  Every page should have a unique meta description content – no exceptions! •  Title Tag can be up to 70 characters, meta descriptions can be up to 156 characters but try to keep them 10 characters less •  Your most important keyword should appear in the content title H1 •  Content text should be between 100-400 words •  Most important keyword should be in <strong> but never more than 1-2 times •  KeyWord density: 1-3 % ( Dont overdo! ) •  Forget your teacher – write to search engines and users •  Remember your teacher – No spelling or grammar mistakes! •  Dont mix to many keywords on the same page – keep focus!
  • 20. SEO technical check list •  Have Clean URLs •  Never create duplicate content •  Link internally – create a good navigation for the search engines and users •  Link to other relevant sites – confirm your own content •  Use Webmaster Tools – keep track of your site performance •  404 errors should have been fixed yesterday! error must never exist on your site
  • 21. Offsite SEO, Linkbuilding: Getting the trust to your site
  • 22. Pagerank: En good indicator of your sites “authority” •  You want Google to recommend your site – but who is recommending your site?
