Horatio Nelson was born in Burnham Thorpe, England in 1758 and grew up there, learning navigation and joining the British Navy at age twelve. He began his naval career in 1771 and his most famous battle was the Battle of Trafalgar on October 21, 1805, where he defeated the French and Spanish fleets but was fatally wounded, dying that same day at Cape Trafalgar, Spain.
