beverage, that has a bitter flavor.
• Where does it come from?: Coffee beans
are found in coffee cherries which grow on
trees that are found in the equatorial region.
• The Process: When it’s picked, the coffee
beans are then processed and dried. After this,
the beans are roasted, pounded and finally,
brewed to make coffee.
• Trade: Coffee is one of the most important
commodities that is traded all over the world.
• History: It is believed that coffee was first
found in Ethiopia.

Starbucks sources most of the coffee beans from the three major coffee growing
regions: Latin America, Africa/Arabia, and Asia-Pacific.
The countries in these regions that make the coffee are Brazil, Colombia, Costa
Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania,Côte
d’Ivoire, Uganda, India, Indonesia and a very small amount from Hawaii.

that it gives good money to farmers. This
makes the company more ethical.
