Work For Yourself
There’s Never Been A Better Time To Work For Yourself
If you’ve dreamed of being your own boss, owning your own company, taking
vacations when you want and spending more time with your family and
friends………right now is the Perfect time to get started.
Something you have to realize before you venture out on your own…….you Still
have to Work……..it’s called Working from home. The work part is the same.
The problem that so many people face is that they are more likely to work harder and longer for
someone else than they are for themselves.
On the other hand, there are those that can’t stand working for anyone else…….hate the idea of
Not being the boss.
I knew someone like this once………when it came to traditional jobs, he was chronically late. He
wasn’t lazy, he just didn’t like being told what to do (he had a problem with authority figures). Yet,
any time that he was in charge, he was early and expected everyone else to be early, too.
Now, he runs his own home repair business and has been quite successful with it for the last 7
years or more. Not only has his business done well, it’s grown to the point that he has all types of
contractors that work for him as plumbers, carpenters, electricians, etc.
Do you have the drive?
If that describes you……..you like being the boss, rather than being bossed……..you are the
perfect candidate to run your own business.
Once you’ve made the decision to work for yourself, next comes choosing what type of business
that you’re interested in……..what are you good at, passionate about……..what’s something you
can sink your teeth into……even if you have no particular skills or knowledge in that area right
now.
The ideas and possibilities are endless. There are contractor-type businesses, such as the home
repair-type business, free-lance writing, direct sales, work from home businesses, etc.
Then, there are positions where you work from home, but, you still “technically” work for someone
else, such as, medical coding, transcription, coding, etc.
Set a “quit” date
Whatever business you choose, realize that there will be a transitional period………a time of
learning and growing. But, don’t let that stop you
from setting a goal for a day to quit your job or turn in
your resignation.
Unless you have expertise in a certain area, or you’ve
got 6-12 months of living expenses saved up, you’re

tomorrow and instantly become successful in your
new position.
It takes time, patience and persistence to grow a
successful business. But, if you have the desire, the
drive, and the personal motivation to keep moving
forward, you’re already a success!
