1. SMSDG – State mobile services delivery gateway
2. SGD – State e-Governance Delivery Gateway or e-Governance Portal connected to Internet for public access
3. SDC – State Data Centre connected to INTRANET for State’s internal use only
4. SWAN – State Wide Area Network
5. NWAN – National Wide Area Network connected to SWANs of all States through p2p leased lines.
6. SMSC – The SMS switches of all mobile network operators (MNOs) in the State.
7. Push SMSs for text info and short message giving long code number to call free for important voice messages from Govt. to
all mobile phones in State.
8. Push and pull IVR messages from long codes
9. Pull SMS messages and citizen responses from and to long codes
10. STS – Secure transfer system which facilitates free flow of information between Internet and INTRANET without impairing the 100%
security of the latter.
11. Internet – The public information highway
12. USB Hub – Connects the different long code phones to the SMS and IVR sections of the SMSDG.
13. Mobile phones required are minimum 2G or CDMA voice and SMS enabled
14. IVR Switch & Station – IVR and manned voice station to answer specific queries from citizens not text savvy. This will be located at
close to the State Data Centres and manned by an outsource agency
15. BTS – Towers through which mobile signals are sent to phones. Directed Cell Broadcasts will take place through such dedicated
towers in the Region.
