This document describes the favorite games of the author's mother, father, grandma, and grandfather. It then shares that the author's favorite games are playing soccer with friends at a small field near the local church and playing Pro Evolution Soccer on their playstation.
2. FAVOURITE GAMES
My mother’s favourite games were:
“La Settimana” (Hopscotch): a court is drawn with a
chalk on the street or on a pavement. Designs vary,
but the course is usually composed of a series of linear
squares interspersed with blocks of two lateral
squares. Traditionally the course ends with a "safe" or
"home" base in which the player may turn before
completing the reverse trip. The purpose of the game
is to hop on one foot and pick up a previously
launched stone without touching the lines.
Hide and seek
because they played all
together in the open air.
3. FAVOURITE GAMES:
Two of my father’s favourite games were:
“MURETTO”: this game consisted in dropping a
football sticker from a wall and letting it fall on the
floor. All players had to repeat the same operation.
Those who were able to drop their stickers on those
belonging to the other players would win all the
stickers.
“THE DEVIL AND THE FOUR CORNERS GAME”: It
is a game played by 5 people. All the players but one
occupy corners of a room, or certain goals in the open
air, and exchange places. The one without a corner
endeavors to get a corner while it is vacant, leaving
some other without one.
4. FAVOURITE GAMES:
My grandma’s favourite games were:
PICCHETTO: they used five small stones. The
stones were placed on the ground quite close to
each other. Then, you had to throw one of the
stones in the air, collect all the other stones with
the same hand and catch the one that had been
thrown in the air before it fell on the ground.
CERCHIO: you took a bike wheel rim and made
it run, pushing it and trying to keep it in balance
with the help of an iron stick. The player who
managed to make his/her own “circle” run the
farthest won.
5. FAVOURITE GAMES:
My grandfather’s favourite games were:
SMALL PILE: in this game you used some small
clay balls. There would be a pile made with
some of the balls and the purpose was to hit
this pile with the small clay balls. The player
who managed to drop the whole pile won the
game.
SMALL AIRPLANES: my grandfather used to
build small airplanes using the leaves of
bamboo canes. The winner was the player who
would launch the airplane the farthest.
6. MY FAVOURITE GAMES:
My favourite games are:
Playing soccer with my friends at the
small field by the local church.
Playing Pro Evolution Soccer on my
playstation.
