Arkios Italy supports S.M. Farmaceutici in the sale of Trieste plant, active in the
production of infusion solutions, to Diaco Biofarmaceutici
Arkios Italy has assisted S.M. Farmaceutici S.r.l. at all stages of the transaction for the sale of the business of
Trieste, active in the production of infusion solutions to Diaco Biofarmaceutici S.r.l.
S.M. Farmaceutici is the company which in 2012
has bought the activities of the three companies
belonging to the Group Diaco failed at the end
of 2011: Diaco S.p.A., Laboratori Biomedicali
Diaco (Trieste) e Novaselect (Potenza).
S.M. Farmaceutici is engaged in the manufacture
of generic injectable drugs, creating solutions for
hemofiltration and hemodialysis, as well as
production of medical devices for hemodialysis
market.
The Trieste plant has achieved in the past an
important market share in Italy (ex Diaco Group)
of approximately 25%, both through direct sales
(Contract Manufacturing for leading European
pharmaceutical companies) and public tenders.
Foreign ukrainians investors, related to Yuria
Pharm pharmaceutical group, has acquired the
Trieste plant through the vehicle Diaco
Biofarmaceutici and intend to develop this plant,
with a strong investment and enlarge
production to other pharmaceutical specialties.
Arkios Italy has supported S.M. Farmaceutici and
its Shareholders in the transaction, during the
negotiation, due diligence, as well as in drafting investment contracts, until the Closing.
For Arkios Italy this is the 16th of M&A Transaction closed since 2009. Arkios Italy is a consolidated
