- Maturity.Parents ought to be more mature than children. Some are more mature than others. That is not a biblical reason for respect.
- Gratitude. Children ought to be grateful, but that is not a biblical reason for respect. Some parents can give more than others, but they are not worthy of more respect.
- The Biblical reason for respect is that the parents have the role of propagating faith.God's design is for children to respect their parents. If we do not, then we show no respect for God's design.This is not a private, but a social matter. Parents are easily offended by anyone talking about their children.
