3. What is USTREAM?
Today, this web application allows its users to
view and broadcast many different types of
information live through the internet.
Ustream was founded in the summer of 2006
by John Ham, Brad Hunstable, and Dr. Gyula
Feher as a way to help overseas soldiers
connect more efficiently with their families.

“The Rippling Pond Project”
Process: Create groups of 4-5 per computer. Provide
students with a direct instruction (mini-lesson) a guided
practice (demonstration) and then the students perform a
group task independently using the computer as a resource
for data and a place to post reflections on ustream.tv. The
teacher facilitates the activity and the class reconvenes to
share their experiences. Students in each of the project
learning teams have individual roles and responsibilities.
Outcome: Enhance cooperative learning, increase
technology experience, build problem solving skills,
motivates students to be innovative and creative.

Ustream is a great interactive broadcasting
application which allows its users to connect with
their audience through live internet access.
Ustream also can enhance our students
technology experience by allowing students to
communicate through blogs, providing various
activities that can reinforce learning and it allows
students to work collaboratively on educational
projects.
