Rolling Forecasts 2009
Build a Better Forecast in Today’s Uncertain and Volatile World
Never has financial forecasting been so important or so hard. Two out of every three
companies have trouble developing an earnings forecast for the next quarter never mind
the full year. “The Crash of ‘08” made the task of forecasting business performance almost
impossible, at least with the tried and true processes that have been used for the last 50
years. Managers now understand that the traditional, static monthly or quarterly forecast
process that emphasizes financial detail simply does not work any more. So what’s the
answer?
In this practical two-day program, David Axson, author of Best Practices in Planning and
Performance Management (John Wiley 2007), former Head of Corporate Planning at Bank of
America and a co-founder of The Hackett Group, teaches you how leading companies are
radically transforming their forecast processes to improve relevance, better understand risk,
and provide management with insightful analysis to support decision-making. Learning from
the examples of prominent companies will provide you with the tools for developing better
forecasting techniques within your own organization.

Rolling Forecasts 2009
Link Business Drivers to Financial Measures for Efficient
Predictive Models
Date: May 5, 2009
Time: 2:00 – 3:30 PM
Business drivers have always been an effective tool in determining the direction an organiza-
tion is going in. While it’s easy to identify what drives an organization, it’s more difficult to
determine which drivers link to financial measures. The combination of drivers and measures
can ensure that your organization’s predictive models will be both accurate and effective in
the forecasting process.
During the webinar you will learn to:
Identify key business drivers specific to your market and business
Measure cause-and-effect relationships between drivers and performance outcomes
Track forecast submissions to improve the accuracy of your data
