Making sense of the

Primary Education and Environmental Systems




              Hypothesis & Research Outline // Charlene Sequeira // Directed Research // Tom Klinkowstein // Summer 2012
This thesis presents the hypothesis that young
children can gain a deep and systemic understanding
   of their place in the greater complex world when
   the concept of environmental interdependence is
        included in primary education through
            creativity and systems thinking.
  As opposed to current society’s predominant state
 of passivity, the consequential values and behaviors
   that arise from this understanding will create an
    environmentally motivated society that actively
 nurtures and helps restore our shared eco-systems.
