2. QUESTION 5 – HOW DID YOU
ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOUR MEDIA AUDIENCE?
AFTER CONDUCTING A SURVEY IN OUR RESEARCH, WE FOUND THAT TO ATTRACT A WIDE AUDIENCE, WE
NEEDED TO MAKE OUR SHORT FILM AS REALISTIC AS POSSIBLE. WE DID THIS BY MAKING THE PLOT AND
SITUATION QUITE RELATABLE AS MANY TEENAGERS HAVE A PARANOIA/FEAR OF PEOPLE FOLLOWING THEM.
WE ALSO MADE OUR SHORT FILM REALISTIC BY MAKING SURE THE CAST INVOLVED WERE OF A SIMILAR AGE
TO OUR TARGET AUDIENCE AND ALSO THAT THEY ALSO DRESSED AND BEHAVED IN A SIMILAR MANOR TO
HOW WE THINK OUR TARGET AUDIENCE WOULD. THE LOCATION OF MAJORITY OF THE SHOTS OF OUR SHORT
FILM SEQUENCE WAS IN A TUBE STATION, THIS IS ALSO RELATABLE TO OUR TARGET AUDIENCE AS MANY
TEENAGERS USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT EVERYDAY. WE DECIDED TO USE A LOT OF CLOSE UPS OF OUR
CHARACTERS SO THE AUDIENCE COULD REALLY EXPERIENCE ALL THE EMOTIONS AND TENSION THE
CHARACTERS WERE FEELING AND ALSO WE USED QUITE A LOT OF P.O.V (POINT OF VIEW) SHOTS SO THAT THE
AUDIENCE COULD EXPERIENCE FIRST HAND WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE TO BE IN THE CHARACTERS PLACE AT
CERTAIN POINTS.
3. FEEDBACK I GOT FROM VIEWERS
I asked some people to
watch the short film
opening and to tell me
what they thought about it,
the screenshots to the
side are what my friends
said when I asked them
and this is what they said, I
also have some quotes
from other people about
what they thought.
" I think it was good, it
looks like it could be the
start of a really creepy film
or TV show, I think the guy
following the girl was
really creepy and it made
me feel really
uncomfortable, I would go
and see this film if it came
out in the cinema though"
